Book Review : Purple JoJo

~Medha is 33.5 months old~

Medha's love for dogs made me buying "Purple JoJo" book by Tulika which is about a white dog. I am not wrong in choosing this book, this became one of her favorite book now. She keeps talking about this book everyday at least once.

Title : Purple JoJo
Author :  Sameera Zia Qureshi
Publisher : Tulika Publishers

Story?

The little white dog has an appealing smile and is seen doing the usual ‘puppy’ things that a young child from any background can relate to. Like any tired little puppy, he falls asleep under a tree, but to his surprise he wakes up to discover purple spots on his body. He tries to find out who gave them to him. The sequence of conversation with each entity he questions, has varied facets of color, location and purpose which enhance learning.

What young children will like?

  • Good Read Out book for younger kids.
  • The repetition ensures it is accessible for small children
  • Children can learn Colors
  • It is a bi-lingual book so one can relate the words in their mother tongue too. These are perfect to introduce another language to your child, this book can be bought in many other languages. You can choose from Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi,Kannada and Tamil.

Medha liked it ?

  • Medha basically loves Dogs, so she liked JoJo's expressions when it founds purple spots on his body
  • She loved to identify the colors when JoJo is asking everyone on the way to find who gave the spots
  • Medha also loved Sun's picture in the book. Infact, she kept doubting how come sun has got mustache.

  • She loved the climax too and laughed out loud by knowing how JoJo got the purple spots.

My Rating

5/5

This adorable story is a beautiful book which helps your preschooler learn about colors
