Review : Flinto Subscription Boxes - October Theme

Since I heard "Monthly Subscription Boxes for Kids" from a friend who had subscribed to some in US it's haunting me a lot. And one day in my leisure time, I browsed for this if we have any available in India.
There I found "Flinto". I was impressed with the idea and snapshots of previous month boxes.

Every month their early childhood education experts will prepare a box which contains special book and hands on activities based on theme that'll contribute to healthy development and learning in child. And they concentrate on how important kids should be learning these topics.

Each of their activity focus on one or few of the above skills. And each box is filled with FUN and LEARNING too. I was so curious to get this box for Medha and ordered 2 boxes one is current month's theme (FUN WITH NUMBERS) and other is previous month's theme (SPACE ADVENTURE).

Arun (Co founder of Flinto) delivered the boxes so fast to my doorstep yesterday evening where I had placed order day before yesterday. (With in One day I got the box) and Medha was super excited to see her name on the box and can't wait to open the box.

And from outside of box as it cannot be predicted which theme it was, I randomly opened one box. Luckily it is FUN WITH NUMBERS theme.

And Medha was super excited to see the contents and asked me "what to do now?" before I read the contents and instruction sheets itself. As soon as she saw the instruction sheet Flinto cartoon draws her attention and she immediately started imitating it. :) As she is not able to close one eye properly just like Flinto, she helped herself by trying raising her lips and widening mouth. :) :)

Ok, Back to the topic, here is sneak-peak of October Month's Theme "Fun with Numbers" Box

Activity #1 - Mozaic Magic

In this, Child can identify colors, geometric shapes and numbers as they coordinates between the three while constructing the mosaic art of Flinto and his friends by peel and stick the Stickers.

Medha loves stickers so she jumped upon this activity as first one as soon as she saw.

Activity #2 - DICE to Store

This is a DIY activity where child can build a storage box and decorate it with glitters

Activity #3 - Jollyville Farmer's market

This is a family board game in which parents also can play with kids. In this they have given a fruit basket in which the cardboard cards with fruit images. Medha assumed that those are matching cards and tried to group all the same cards.

Activity #4 - The Number Explorer

This is a game where kid has to solve the mystery of numbers. We haven't looked at this deeply.

Activity #5- Story Book : Flinto and the missing eggs

This is a story book about Flinto finding missing eggs in a house party. We need to read this book yet. But Medha loved the pictures alot.

I will upload more details once Medha completes all activities along with pictures.

Their box include ALL the materials required, simple ‘’how to’’ guides and contents. It has careful selection of contents with engaging crafts, games to fine tune those tiny motor skills, fun books to enhance cognitive skills and play & learn activities. All that we parents and children have to do is open the box and get engaged, creating lasting experiences and wonderful memories at home.

What we loved?

  • The theme of the box
  • The tips provided to USE basic house hold objects to explain the concept.
  • You don't have to go to shop to get source for supplies and ideas
  • Each month focus on specific theme.
  • Beautiful pictures of Flinto
  • Each activity instruction sheet contains what skills can be enhanced in kid by doing that.

What could have been better?

  • The stickers in Mozaic activity are not so Kid friendly. Of course they had given Glue too in case if peeling stickers is difficult. Hence no regrets. And they promised that next time they will make them Kid-friendly.
  • Age group. The box ideally aimed for children between ages 3 – 6 years can not be done interdependently by them - Though I didn't consider this as main issue as it gives a chance to we parents to involve and play with our children making it a wholesome experience for the children.
  • And some activities are more suitable to 4+.
I am definitely looking forward to subscribe forever to get more themes and more interesting crafts and ideas and of course their beautiful tips :)  Medha loved the box a lot. Thanks Arun and Vijay for the awesome box of activities.
