Flinto : January Theme - Wild Life Safari

Animals, Zoo, Safari Trips - which kid doesn't like these? I am sure they are one of their favorite things for every kid. This month, Flinto Theme is based on Wild Life Safari. Oh My God, I must say they have picked up the activities very beautifully for this month.

Sneak-peak of the Wild Life Safari Theme Flinto Box contents is here.

I can say that this box has some of the activities that Medha enjoyed a lot and lot in recent times.

Activity #1 - Story Book - The Brave Rangers

A story about Flinto and his friends go to camping in a forest for a wild life safari. In the forest they meet an Elephant, Haati, whose baby was stolen by Hunters. Rest is how Flinto and his friends saved baby elephant Ganesh from the hunters.  They also help the other baby animals stolen by hunters to reach their parents.

This 7 page book is well written and illustrated with beautiful pictures of all the animals. Medha loved each animal picture in the book. And she loved matching the baby animal with the parent in one of the pages.

Activity #2 - Jumbled in the Jungle

This is a board game in which two players can play to save the animals from being hunted. The player has to collect as many cards while playing and when they match both the head and tail of the same animal, that animal being saved. And the player who can save more animals will be the winner.

I guess Medha is yet small to understand the concept of dice and moving the coins to finish the entire game. But collecting the animal cards and the concept of matching them with the other part of the card made her sitting for more than 30 minutes. Though we didn't finish the game completely, I am happy with what we had done. I can say this is the first time she played a board game which involves dice and taking turns for longer period.

She mainly liked the concept of collecting cards for each turn based on the tile she moved on to in the board. She was very happy when she got to match Hippo's both head and tail :)

Activity #3 - My Safari Animals Search

This is a Do it Yourself activity to finger paint the animal patterns given. And the pattern animals can stand upright by sliding the bases onto the feet given. This pack has colors and apron provided along with the 5 animal patterns. (Crocodile, Girrafee, Elephant, Leopard, Hippo)

Sample pictures from Flinto :

They provided a detailed "How to Do?" sheet also along with the pack. And there are some beautiful ideas behind this sheet about painting with Vegetables and some interesting facts about animals given in the patterns.

Medha loves coloring. As soon as she opened the box, this is the first activity she chosen to do. She did for crocodile. Unfortunately I couldn't take a picture while she was doing that. I will update with the pictures tomorrow when she is doing for others. :)

Activity #4 - My Safari Jeep

This is another DIY activity in which kids can make their own Safari jeep with the nuts, bolts, and wheels provided in the kit. This activity we haven't done, but from the "How to do?" sheet, I guess Medha can do 75% of the assembling and rest with my help. We both are excited to do this tomorrow.

Activity #5 - Bonus - Keep Learning Animals

There is a bonus book given in this month's box which has some interesting information about each animal. Medha knows some of them already like Cheetah, Hippo and Giraffe. Other animals information is really good. Each page on left hand side talks about facts about Animals and right hand a drawing activity. Medha isn't yet there to draw pictures. But she loved me reading the facts about each animal.

Overall, Medha enjoyed this month's box a lot and so I am. :)
